Manchester United are interested in signing Lille centre-back Sven Botman this summer, says Gianluca Di Marzio.

Botman, 22, wants to leave the French club when the transfer window opens and new United boss Erik ten Hag is a fan of the Netherlands international.

Inter Milan's Alessandro Bastoni, Juventus' Matthijs de Ligt, Villarreal's Pau Torres and Ajax's Jurrien Timber have all been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but Botman could be a cheaper option at around €25 million.

Milan have been linked with Botman but are prioritising a move for his Lille teammate Renato Sanches instead.

Manchester United have also been linked with the Borussia Dortmund star who made 26 appearances in the Bundesliga last season.

20.30 BST: After having a second bid for Sadio Mane turned down, Bayern Munich are already preparing a third offer, according to SPORT1.

The Bundesliga champions have been tracking the Liverpool winger for a number of months, but Jurgen Klopp's side have so far kept strong against their valuation which is believed to be around €40m.

The LaLiga club are looking to acquire a midfielder this summer, and it is reported that Gattuso has informed the board that he would like to bring the 30-year-old Internazionale star to the Estadio Mestalla.

The Lille defender made 31 appearances across all competitions last season.

Speaking on the move, as quoted by Sport, River Plate president Jorge Brito said: "River is willing to make a significant economic effort so that Luis Suarez is the replacement for Julian Alvarez. It is the dream of Gallardo and the leadership. There were already talks with the Uruguayan."

Suarez, 35, has recently been linked with Aston Villa, and he is set to become a free agent at the end of the month when his contract with Atletico Madrid expires.

Inter want to bring the 29-year-old Lukaku back, but can't spend near the €115m they received for him in the summer of 2021.

14.33 BST: Manchester United are prepared to rival Liverpool for the signing of Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, sources have told ESPN.

United are looking for a young forward this summer and 22-year-old Nunez is high up on their list of players.

Liverpool have also registered their interest and sources have told ESPN that United would not be put off even if it meant going head-to-head with the Anfield side.

Nunez, according to sources, is keen for regular Champions League football which would put Liverpool ahead in the race but United believe there is a chance he could be convinced to move to Old Trafford.

Sources have told ESPN that an issue for both United and Liverpool is Benfica's valuation.

The Portuguese side initially quoted more than £110m to sign the Uruguay international, although there is a feeling any bid over £80m would be taken seriously given Nunez, who has a contract until 2025, is keen on a move.

14.04 BST: Chelsea made their first signing under the new ownership led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital after their women's team brought in France defender Eve Perisset from Bordeaux on Wednesday.

The Boehly-Clearlake consortium completed its takeover of Chelsea from Roman Abramovich last month after the Russian owner put the club up for sale in March following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which Moscow calls a "special military operation."

"The time was right for me to make this big move to London and join the English Super League," Perisset, who becomes the first French female player to play for Chelsea, said.

13.24 BST: Liverpool have firmly rejected a second offer from Bayern Munich for Sadio Mane, with sources telling ESPN the Premier League runners-up are bemused by the approach.

The second offer comprised of £23.5m upfront and the bonuses increased by £2.5m to £6.5m.

A source told ESPN in order for the transfer fee to reach that figure Bayern would have to win the Champions League three years in a row and Mane would have to win the Ballon d'Or three times.
