The #13 Florida State Seminoles are 9.5-point favorites over the Oklahoma Sooners in the Cheez-It Bowl on Thursday, December 29
Oklahoma is 6-1 straight up all-time against Florida State
That includes a 3-1 Sooners SU edge in previous bowl games
The Florida State Seminoles (9-3, 8-4 ATS) will be putting perfection on the line in the Cheez-It Bowl, while the Oklahoma Sooners (6-6, 4-8 ATS) will be putting a 57-year winning streak over the Seminoles on the line.
This is the fourth appearance for the Seminoles in the Cheez-It. Florida State won this bowl game in 1990, 2008 and 2011 to sit a perfect 3-0 straight up in Cheez-It Bowl appearances. Oklahoma played its lone Cheez-It Bowl game in 2014 and lost 40-6 to Clemson.
However, the Sooners are on a six-game winning streak in head-to-head meetings with the Seminoles. Florida State won the first meeting between the two schools in the 1965 Gator Bowl. Since then, it’s been all Oklahoma. The Sooners have won six in a row overall, including a trio of bowl game triumphs. The most recent meeting was a 23-13 Oklahoma win in 2011 at Tallahassee.
It’s the #13-ranked Seminoles who oddsmakers like in this game, though. Florida State is set as a 9.5-point favorite. The Seminoles are 4-1 against the spread over their past five games.
