Star studded field competing at the WGC-Mexico Championship
Will Justin Thomas shake off last week’s meltdown for his 10th tour victory?
We’ve narrowed down the golfers with the best chance of emerging victorious
Nearly all the big names in golf converge for the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship. 47 of the top 50 players in the world are teeing it up with Justin Rose, Jason Day, and Adam Scott the lone exceptions.
This venue has only been played twice so there is not a ton of course history with Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson winning the two times it has been contested at Club de Golf Chapultepec.

Justin Thomas returns to WGC-Mexico Championship with unfinished business
Justin Thomas is the favorite this week for good reason. Not only is he coming off a runner-up finish at the Genesis Open, but he also finished second at this event last year after a blistering weekend and had a tied for fifth showing the year before.
That playoff loss to Phil Mickelson last year was electric after Thomas holed out for eagle from the fairway on the 72nd hole. Despite the near misses, Thomas is in incredible form, also posting two other third places finishes this year.
Normally betting on the favorite doesn’t yield much money but with a stacked field and +900 odds, bet Thomas with confidence this week.

Tiger Woods competing in 2nd WGC event since 2014
History lesson time – not only has Tiger racked up 14 career majors but he also obliterated fields at World Golf Championship events.

This will mark just his second WGC start since 2014 (T-31st at WGC-Bridgestone last year).

This will be the first time Tiger tees it up on this course, however, and he’s coming off two decent – not great – starts to 2019 (T-20 at Torrey Pines and T-15 at Riviera.)
He’s been making strides in his game but last weeks slug-fest was taxing on his body.
Pass on placing a wager to begin the week. But with a recent affinity for starting tournaments off slowly, keep an eye out when his odds lengthen for a potential in-play bet which offers better value.
2019 WGC-Mexico Championship Best Value Picks
Jordan Spieth (+2800): He’s too good to not figure out his recent weekend blowups at Pebble Beach and Riviera.
Marc Leishman (+3300): He’s been quietly dominant, racking up five top-four finishes in his last seven events, including one victory.
Sii Woo Kim (+4500): Trending up with a third and T-4th finish in last two events for the 2017 Players Champion.
Tyrrell Hatton (+6600): Finished a shot out of a playoff here last year and also posted another top-10 the year before.
Henrik Stenson (+6600): He hasn’t been sharp lately but any time you can get Stenson at these odds, you have to take it.
