Besiktas' Caner Erkin facing lengthy spell on sidelines with Achilles injury

Erkin, 28, on loan from Inter Milan, came off the bench in the 70th minute but was forced off 13 minutes later with an injury to his left ankle.

The Turkey international underwent successful surgery and was later discharged from hospital, according to Besiktas' official Twitter account.

The club also tweeted several pictures of Erkin smiling in a hospital bed and flanked by some of his teammates.

Besiktas manager Senol Gunes told the club's official website: "Caner needs some time to come back. He needs patience.''
